Say goodbye to the last of winter’s season with these warm flavours of cool soft serve: just right for Singapore! Aqua S‘ homey flavours of Apple Pie and Earl Grey will soothe and please your senses.
…or so they’d like you to think.
We were out the day these flavours launched, so we scuttled to Orchard for our soft serve fix, especially since these sounded right up our alley. After a sampling, we found out they were and just ordered one of each twist.
Apple Pie is not as sweet as their usual dessert flavours, and frankly doesn’t actually taste like apple – it tastes more like almond (xin ren) doufu. The flavour profile is much more ‘pie’ than ‘apple.’ If you’d rather have a flavour that tastes more McD apple pie, don’t buy it – but if you don’t mind trying crispy sugared pie crust as ice cream, go for it.
Max rates 3/5.
Earl Grey is similarly less sweet than their previous milk tea offering. It’s light and floral, with a slightly acrid tea leaf taste. If you do like Earl Grey tea with less sugar, I highly recommend this.
Max rates 3.5/5.
As always, I think both flavours taste great with, and is less overwhelming with the twist of sea salt than alone.
